    Alexandra Gilliams is an art historian, curator, and writer currently completing a PhD at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne in Art History on the aesthetics and politics of artificial intelligence in contemporary art. Her research examines how AI is staged, critiqued, and speculated upon through artistic practices, with particular attention to spectacle and the infrastructures that shape perception and subjectivity.

    She is assisting curators for an upcoming exhibition at the MAAT in Lisbon, and was a curatorial assistant for the exhibition The World Through AI at the Jeu de Paume in Paris. Bylines include Spike Art Magazine, Do Not ResearchCLOT, XIBT, Art Observed, and ARTPIL. She is a founding member of the AI/Arts Observatory, a research association at the Sorbonne that was created by Antonio Somaini, theorist and professor of film, media, and visual culture.
